The Wine Enthusiast offer their answer to this question.

According to the Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2020, they do. Italy’s Tignanello 2016 was awarded the top spot on the list, along with a score of 99 points.

An additional four Italian wines were included in the top 15. At 12th was Ciacci Picclomini d’Aragona Pianrosso Brunello di Montalicino 2015, which also had a wine feature very high on the publication’s Top 100 wines of 2020.

Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona Brunello di Montalcino 2015 was announced as the 3rd best wine of 2020, narrowly trailing Trimbach 2017 selection de Vieilles Vignes Riesling from Alsace at 2nd and Lail 2018 Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa at 1st.

Tignanello 2016 however has not only captured the attention of critics this year but that also of the trade, seen below. The wine is currently the second most traded by volume in 2020 with demand coming from the greatest number of distinct buyers. Activity remains robust and there are currently 130 cases offered LIVE in a series of different formats (6×75, 12×37.5, 1×150).

Looking for large parcels is also easier than ever to find with your new Opportunities page, linked below, which highlights LIVE offers of wines in 75cl formats of 20 cases of more.

Finding the right wine to fill the shelves this holiday season has become that much more efficient.
